Project A Fighters Part 6:
"The Cat, The Fish, and the Fox"
"Really? You've been expecting me?" I gawked at the cat creature.
"Yes my friend." He simply responded. "I have foreseen your fore-coming here in this toon world. You have great potential, you need to harness it; however in order to do that, you must control your emotions."
"Yeah, I do get kinda carried away after I realize that I'm outmatched."
"For you to do this, you must control the beast inside you." He directed his hand towards the giant fish. "You see my companion?"
I looked at the beast nervously, and nodded in agreement.
"He was not always the tame warrior that he is now. He had to be befriended and trained to be my most helpful companion. Through that, he was able to better his abilities, both strength and speed. For this reason, he and I together, have conquered many feats."
I scratched at my ear, pondering what he was trying to explain to me. Control the beast? Could I do that?
"You see, without my companion, I would be but a lowly traveler with some strength, but not in comparison to my Magikarp."
"Magikarp?" I questioned.
"Well, more of a Magikarp that learned his own Super Evolution. Through vigorous training and treks, he has surpassed any mere Magikarp and learned to perform an evolution to turn into more of a fitting physique of his own. He is a creature that has traversed many plains, mountains, and other hardships and quests to become what he is today. He is the one and only 'Super Fisch', a force to be reckoned with for whoever decides to cross his path indeed."
"Wow, so you're saying that he discovered his own kind of evolution?"
"Indeed, he has learned to better himself in the way of combat for a more 'efficient' fighting style."
"So you're saying that if I harness the beast in me, I can also 'evolutionize' to better my fighting tactics?"
The cat put his hand to his face as he let out a light sigh.
"More or less my friend, I am saying that if you control the beast inside you. You can work together to overcome challenges together. He may become an asset to your cause if you convince him how important it is or how he can 'have fun' with it."
"Hmm." I put my hoof to my face, deep in thought. If I could just get in contact with him, maybe I could change the tide of the battles we have completely. The more I thought about it, the more I figured that it would be worth a shot. If I could convince him that beating people did not have to end in killing, we could get closer to solving the unending questions of this world without any unnecessary casualties. There was one thing that had been bugging me ever since he started tutoring me on my abilities that I needed to ask.
"How do know so much about me sir? I'm one of the only ones that know about the evil spirit I've tried to keep dormant inside my body for so long."
"I hear the spirits whisper in the air, amongst the streets, the skies, and amongst homes. When you approached, your spirit spoke the loudest I've heard for ages. It's blood boils to kill; playful, yet sick and twisted. A misguided spirit with a soul purpose to 'play'. A spirit that if lost control, could wipe the streets with the blood of innocents. This is why you must get your spirit to cooperate with you."
Somehow, I already knew what he was telling me, yet I needed that reminder to remember who I was and what my purpose was. I needed that from time to time.
"Thank you sir."
"For what my friend?"
"For reminding me of who I am."
It was then that a portal opened in the alley. A distress call followed, another pony named "Tinker Cog". The message followed: “Hello this is Tinker Cog from the outskirts of Ponyville. You may not know me, but I need your help. This beacon has just crossed through a portal to another world and found you, please follow it and meet me in the building of a nearby city called Titan Station. Finally, hurry up through the portal, because if something went wrong, then there should still be a rift that will close in an hour or two that you can go through, please hurry.”
Strange that I've never heard of this pony, he explained he lived on the outskirts of Ponyville, yet I've never heard of him. I glanced back at the cat.
"I need to go help a friend in another world." I explained to him. "Thank you for your time sir."
"No problem my friend, remember what I have told you."
"I will." I paused in my tracks. "You know though, I never got your name."
"You will find out in due time, for now, you need to assist your pony friend."
I nodded at his reasoning. "Right then, I should be off." I trotted towards the portal, when I came two feet away from it, I turned and waved. "Thank you! For everything! I'll show you, I'll be a new fox! You'll see!"
He smiled back and nodded. The Super Fisch also nodded and waved back.
I charged through the portal, with new-found confidence, for whatever lay ahead of me.
